@Jolly What makes for a good morning show? At one time, like Phibes, it was cartoons. Now it’s the Weather Channel. Although, my teenage son has found a cable station that runs old 3 Stooges shorts. Nothing says Good Morning to start your retirement day like a bowl of Stooges.

I'm aware of that, but the question is how far should it be allowed to go?

Not the first to note that full-stop tribal disgust, and its attendant inability to understand one's countrymen, is good for nobody. But somehow, when people are in the throes of their tribal disgust, they'd rather throw temper tantrums than be adults. We'll be seeing plenty of that later this year.

@89th said in D4 was pissed: In that scenario I have no problem opening my driver side door only to OOPS find out the other car was too close. Two problems with that. First of all, she still wouldn’t have enough room to get out. Secondly, she would probably damage her car as well.

@George-K said in Axios comments on Trump's economic record.: Implicit in that statement by Axios is this: "Everything was great under Trump until the pandemic. Now that the pandemic's over (?), it should be great again, so he should be reelected." Right? Not if you believe that everything that happened on his watch was his responsibility. Because then he's to blame for the pandemic too, and if he's re-elected we'll probably have another one.

An opinion is right. The author is only noticing the rehab of Stalin now? It’s been going on piecemeal since at least, 2005. Perhaps even earlier. In the mind of a vast majority of Russians, Stalin represents the apogee of Russian power and influence. Following Stalin’s death in 1953, Soviet power steadily declined and culminated in the dissolution of the USSR and the chaos that followed until Putin was handed the Presidency. Putin, being the populist autocrat he is, champions the societal ethos of the Stalinist image of power and greatness. It is quite irrelevant whether Stalin was a more murderous tyrant than Hitler or that people in the West should be outraged that Stalin’s image is being rehabilitated in Putin’s Russia. To Russians, Stalin means not a flawed person or a bloodthirsty tyrant, but rather Stalin is the sum total of Russian power and determination to raise itself from the ashes of destruction and achieve greatness. Stalin the man is merely an imperfect icon reflecting the greatness of Russia.

A 100% lethal virus won't stay that way, but how many people does it kill before it starts to mutate?
